On the night of the 9th of September, we lost our good friend David Francois, who has been a part of our community for many years.
Francois fell ill on Friday afternoon and was taken to the local hospital, where a large, undetected tumour was discovered in his brain. He was taken to Rigshospitalet for emergency surgery, but he didn’t make it out.
It’s hard to believe that someone so full of life, so giving and with such hope for the world is no longer with us. We’ll miss his open heart, his creative visions, his welcoming way of being and his croissants.
Thanks for the memories, the folk kitchens, the dreams, the chats, the festivals, the building projects and all the other moments great and small that we shared together. Francois sowed many seeds at Makvärket, in his allotment, in us, in the world, and he will always be with us.
Francois will be laid to rest in France by his friends and family there, but we will also hold a ritual in his memory at Makvärket. More information will follow for those interested in joining us.
